Master Programmes at University of Szeged
The English language Program offered for foreign students at the Faculty of Medicine started in the academic year 1985/86 respectively. The Medical Program covers 6 years, that is, 12 semesters.
The English-language dental medicine program was launched in the academic year 2004/2005. The five-year program is designed to unify the basic and clinical sciences, as it is believed that scientific and professional development cannot be sharply differentiated, but should proceed simultaneously throughout the program. After the successful completion of the program students are awarded the title Doctor Medicinae Dentaire (dentist; D.M.D.)
The Faculty of Pharmacy was founded in 1957. Since 1921, more than 4000 pharmacists have received their diplomas (Master of Pharmacy) and 400 pharmacists have been awarded a university doctorate in pharmacy. In recent years, 94 foreign students from 24 countries have received pharmaceutical diplomas through government-sponsored exchange programs. A number of young foreign pharmacists currently take part in different post-graduate courses.
Since 2005 the University of Szeged – in cooperation with the University of Lyon 3 – manages a Master of European Law with the specialization Central and Eastern Europe. The study program lasts for two years, courses are held in French in Szeged, Hungary with professors from France, Belgium, Hungary and neighbouring countries.
The very first Masters’ Programme in Hungary in the field of Study of Religions was launched by the University of Szeged. In accordance with the Bologna process, our Bachelor Programme (BA) is available through the Study of Religions specialization, besides which our MA Programme will be also launched in September 2009.
The French Language and Literature MA Degree program aims to train young professionals who gain a deep and versatile knowledge of French Language and Literature and may obtain jobs in a number of various fields.
Applicant for the English and American Studies MA program can choose a specialization in either English or American Studies at the beginning of the program. The objective of the programme is to train young professionals who have thorough and wide-ranging theoretical and practical knowledge of their chosen field of study, which enables them to use their skills in a number of different fields of work.
The German Language and Literature MA Degree Program has the objective of trainig specialists in German language and Germanics, who have a theoretical and practical knowledge in social sciences in general that they can use to their benefit in a number of fields, such as international relations, international communication, tourism or journalism.
The aim of the program is not only to train students in linguistics but to give the applicants a more wide-ranging and thorough knowledge in Italian culture, history and arts that they can use in a number of different fields of work after graduation.
The need for Spanish language and culture is growing continuously due to the growing role and weight of Hispanic civilization in our world.
