The University of Szeged on the latest ranking of the Times

The Times Higher Education (THE) has published its newest ranking the Times Higher Education BRICS & Emerging Economies University Rankings 2017. The University of Szeged has the 129th place on the list – which result shows slightly improvement compared to earlier 136th position.

Among the Hungarian universities the University of Szeged has a prestigious position in the Times Higher Education BRICS & Emerging Economies University Rankings 2017. The University of Szeged is ranked as the 129th. There are seven Hungarian universities in the list: Central European University (16.), Semmelweis University (65.), University of Pécs (122.), Eötvös Loránd University (123.), University of Szeged (129.), Budapest University of Technology and Economics (154.) and University of Debrecen (201-150.)


The ranking includes top 300 universities and it uses the same 13 performance indicators as the THE World University Rankings to judge institutions on their teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook. The Times Higher Education BRICS & Emerging Economies University Rankings 2017 includes only institutions in countries classified as “advanced emerging”, “secondary emerging” or “frontier” by the FTSE, including the BRICS nations of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.
