SZTE campus

SZTE’s Campus became the most beautiful in the country

SZTE won in the first round of eduline.hu’s online beauty contest – they were searching for the most beautiful Hungarian University campus.

According to the 40 percents of the voters University of Szeged has the most beautiful campus among the Hungarian Universities. Within five days they recieved 34.135 votes for the ten rival Universities.

University of Debrecen got to the second stage of the podium, it gained the 30% of the votes. The third became Szent István University with 10%. Competed also: University of Pécs (5%), BME (5%), ELTE (4%), BGE (4%), Corvinus (2%), University of Óbuda (1%), and the University of Széchenyi István (1%)

University of Szeged participated in the competition with a photo of the Rector’s Office, however in a broader sense the whole city is the campus, since it’s close to 300 buildings situated in Szeged’s different parts.

The upshot of the competition can be found here.

SZTE Experience

The Student life here is buzzing with hundreds of international students from all around the world. What I love in here is that you bump into students everywhere, from both Hungary and all around the world, and that despite our differences we are kinda accepted in town. I looked University of Szeged up on the internet and, when I saw that this was called the city of sunshine, it became clear in my mind that it would be the place, where I wanted to be as an Erasmus student. Szeged was far beyond my expectations, and I am glad to be able to admire the beauty of this city. The nature itself has the power to calm me down, so the Botanic Garden of the University is a special place to me.

Being awarded the Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship, I came from Lebanon to Szeged. Student life here is astonishing; I simply adore being a student at SZTE. A variety of foreign scholars, and young people have arrived here from all corners of the world. After having finished with academic work at the lab, there is still time for relaxing. The town itself is also impressive – my favourite place is Széchenyi tér.
