University buildings downtown

A high standard of education demands a pleasant environment.

The University of Szeged does not have a campus, but in place of that it has a unique charm. In the city centre and across the river, old, eclectic or modern university buildings are to be found around every corner. Our educational, study and meeting point is the University of Szeged József Attila Study and Information Centre, a multiple architectural prize winner, included among the ten most beautiful libraries in the world. This is where the “heart of the university beats”. Besides the construction of this outstanding glass building, a number of development projects have led to the renewal of several university buildings.

SZTE Experience

The University of Szeged is a well-known and internationally ranked institution in Hungary and worldwide. It is such a wonderful experience to study here. Instructors are professionals and well-qualified; students are nice and open towards foreign cultures. Events organised by the faculties are pleasant and help with integration as well as provide the opportunity to get new acquaintances and friends.

Being awarded the Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship, I came from Lebanon to Szeged. Student life here is astonishing; I simply adore being a student at SZTE. A variety of foreign scholars, and young people have arrived here from all corners of the world. After having finished with academic work at the lab, there is still time for relaxing. The town itself is also impressive – my favourite place is Széchenyi tér.
